The Magic of Spring in Spokane, Washington

Spokane Family Photographer

Spring is finally here! It’s slowly starting to warm up here in Spokane and it feels like the city is coming alive again. Our beloved Centennial Trail is full of cyclists, dog walkers and runners and it makes my heart so happy to see people out and about again. I’ve lived in Spokane for about 1.5 years and can truly say this city has the absolute best spring and summer seasons. I will be taking full advantage of this beautiful weather and continue to scout the best photography spots around the area for my incredible clients! It’s pretty much guaranteed that when people think of spring, flowers will be one of the first things to come to mind. I absolutely LOVE flowers. This spring, I am so excited to start my first garden. I cannot wait to grow beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables for my family. Here’s to hoping it goes well!

Now that it’s officially spring, I had to take the opportunity to share this AMAZING mommy and me session with my dear friend Mary Catherine and her daughter Ruth. We met at the Evening Light Lavender Farm in Deer Park, Washington to photograph them in this incredible field of lavender. The view of Mt. Spokane in the background made this location even more memorable. The bond between these two (and any mother and daughter) is so special. Mary Catherine’s calming presence and Ruth’s fun personality together are impossible not to smile at. And both of them are wearing beautiful white dresses? Are you kidding me! This whole session was something straight out of a photographer's dream.

Spring is the PERFECT time to get your photos taken. There are so many beautiful backdrops in the area (the state parks coming alive, the Spokane river rushing through the city, the beautiful flowers blooming). Not to mention the bright, airy neutrals and pastels of spring make for beautiful outfits. If you are interested in taking spring family photos, please do not hesitate to reach out!

PS: With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day quickly approaching, a family session is a perfect gift idea. You can have fun getting your photos taken and create special prints, memory books and other personalized items to treat the special parents in your life. Reach out to me and let’s make that happen!

Cheers!
